The Federal University of Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, has been forced to close following the protest staged by students to resist school fees payment before writing examinations.

They asked questions over the continuous detention of Jang despite that he is being faithful in honouring all invitations by the agency in charge, the EFCC.

The different placards were seeing with youth, who raised them above their head for press visibility, placards like, “Free Jang”, “Jang is the Messiah of the Middle Belt”, among others.
Comrade Jelani was quoted as saying, “Jang’s detention is simply a witch-hunt to derail his plans to contest the 2019 presidential elections”.
The protesters also pointed to the APC administration of not being fair in the conduct of their activities
In a related development, a high court had set Wednesday, 16th May, 2018, for the arraignment of Senator Jonah Jang.
The former governor of the state has since Monday last week has been in the detention of the EFCC over corruption for failure to explain the whereabouts of #6.3bn naira, thus Economic and Financial Crime Commission charge Jang 12 count charge
Counsel to EFCC, Rotimi Jacob (SAN) in Senator Jonah Jang case had filed a motion of exparte seeking a relief order against the former governor and others and however applied for another date with the court over the case to Wednesday so also to allow EFCC to do all preliminaries assessment for security and logistics purpose.
Justice Daniel Longji, who is the presiding Judge of the case in High Court No:5 granted the relief for motion exparte and arraignment and also granted the adjournment to Wednesday, 16th May, 2018.
Though Robert Clarke (SAN) who is counsel to the accused (Senator Jonah Jang who didn’t object the postponement to Wednesday, however, was baffled that the accused is being prosecuted for the charges he is not privy to.
“My Lord, for over 50 years of practice this is the first time i’m seeing this”.
DSS, National Security and Civil Defence Corps and over 100 policemen were seen around the court to prevent the breakdown of law and order around the premises of the court. The security operatives were placed strategically but can be seen all at alerts in their uniform.
